Offered to physiotherapists, technologists, and chiropractors.

Special Note: If you are pregnant, please be aware that some techniques cannot be performed during this training.
General objectives
This training is offered to physiotherapists, chiropractors, and physiotherapy technologists. Throughout your career, you develop your expertise in manual therapy, geriatrics, cardio-respiratory or in the treatment of specific areas of the body: shoulders, neck, knees, etc. But why shouldn't we be experts integrating these different approaches into the very heart of what binds us: our abdomen? The latter is so neglected in physiotherapy when it is the instigator of many ailments... Finally, we examine it, demystify it and treat it.
Specific objectives
Contextualize the abdomen in the practice of physiotherapy in Quebec and understand the clientele who can follow this therapy.
Understand the theoretical aspect of the system studied (the different layers of the skin, the healing phases of scars (visible and invisible), location of scars).
Know the visceral, muscular and fascial anatomy of the abdomen by quadrant.
Locate the different organs in palpation anatomy.
Establish links between skin connections, scars, fasciae and organs versus consultation symptomatology..
Analyze referred and local pain patterns.
Grasp the whole of a problem and make the link with the different related dysfunctions. Apply the different theoretical knowledge to understand the vision of the iceberg, the views and thicknesses of the body.
Know the contraindications, precautions and limits to the mobilization of soft tissues at the abdominal level.
Apply the different methods of soft tissue mobilization. Demonstration of abdominal palpation assessment techniques, treatment techniques and supervised practice, three of which are basic.

Please wear comfortable clothing for the exercises.

This training is offered in French.
This training provides 14 hours of continuing education credits.
